This past week, I've added random people in FB... admittedly, they're all girls and good looking (I guess the reason is self explanatory). I've done this out of all the news concerning ladies/girls victimized by guys they met in the internet. I was wondering what's the psychological framework that this ladies/girls have when they've done what they did.
Call it a social experiment of some sort.
Let's just say, 50% of those I've added accepted the invite (in case they're reading this, very much thank you!). Out of respect, I've sent private messages to all of those who accepted only 1 out of arround 30 person sent a reply. I tried to make a conversation but to no avail.
I guess, most of these ladies/girls know the danger of what they've done (or I'm just not good looking enough for them to be interested, hehehe). Still, I can say that it was a successful experiment.
Say for example, this blog, the ones your reading now had 716 page viewes 'til date. Most of them coming from USA. Funny, I think I don't have that much of friends residing in the USA. As I have said, I guess I talk some sense sometimes.
We'll... I guess, the lesson here is that evil people are everywhere in this day and age and its our moral duty to stay vigilant of them all the time and in every endeavor that we do. The internet and social media connects people from all walks of life (I'm even friends with some actresses, imagine!) and it levels the social caste putting everyone into one class and that is the individual and self.
For a short period of time, I was able to connect to close to 40 people (real or not, there's got to be someone making the unreal one, right?)... 40 lives that I can influence (potentially). Thus, spiderman's quotable line is appropraite: with great power comes great responsibilities (hope I got that right).
