The Devil in Red (During Christmas)

Some if not all of you would recognize Sta. Claus as the icon of Christmas.  He is often be the ones displayed on establishments rather than the Holy Family or even the baby Jesus.  In a way, Sta. Claus is the symbolism of Christmas commercialization - but more than that, for me, he has stolen Christ in Christmas.

He is the devil in red.  You may all disagree to what I just said, all I ask is answer this: "What is the reason why Christmas is celebrated?"  The root word in Christmas is Christ, so why all the Sta. Claus?

The origin of gift giving is the three wise men who gave symbolic gifts to Christ when He was born.  Is Sta. Claus there?  All the angels sang praises to God as they appeared in the shepherds in the field and not to Sta. Claus.

Let us not forget the truth about Christmas and that is Christ.  We celebrate the gift of salvation coming from Christ and not from the devil in red.

Teach your children about Christ rather than Sta. Claus.

Merry CHRISTmas to all of you!
